¿Qué es la generación Alfa?
Hacer cortes generacionales no es una ciencia exacta. Sin embargo, según un análisis de 2018 del centro de estudios Pew Research Center, analizar las generaciones ofrece “una manera de entender cómo los acontecimientos globales y los cambios tecnológicos, económicos y sociales interactúan para definir la forma en que la gente ve el mundo”. Y está claro cómo ve el mundo la próxima generación: a través de una pantalla.
“Antes las generaciones se definían a partir de sucesos históricos o sociales importantes. Hoy se delimitan por el uso de determinada tecnología”, le explica a BBC Mundo un psicólogo, docente, escritor y experto en el uso — y abuso — de las redes sociales.
Ninguna de las generaciones anteriores será comparable a nivel digital con los Alfa, que, como contraparte, serán la primera a la que le serán ajenos muchos aspectos del mundo analógico.

My idea of philosophy is that if it is not relevant to human problems, if it does not tell us how we can go about eradicating some of the misery in this world, then it is not worth the name of philosophy. It is true that all children are special, simply because they are children. But most adults are not special, and children end up as adults pretty quickly. Life then can be difficult and even disappointing. The shock of this may account for the emergence of the “snowflake generation” of university students, who are so delicate they can’t handle controversial ideas being put forward in their lectures. The roots of this fragility run deep in modern culture. So, an approach of the world that states: “Life is wonderful, you’re special and, if you are a good boy/girl, life will be amazing forever” is not a message designed to aid bouncing back from failure or confronting catastrophe. Resilience is not about feeding ego — telling your children how wonderful they are — but strengthening it.
